Our mandate is to develop, manage and improve systems to recover used beverage containers and end-of-life products from consumers and ensure that they are properly recycled and not land-filled or incinerated. Encorp's evolving collection network consists of 180+ Return-It collection locations across BC.
Job Overview
Encorp is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Manager - Facility Maintenance & Construction to lead the planning, construction, and lifecycle management of corporate-owned Return-It depots. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays a critical role in managing capital investments, infrastructure planning, and long-term asset stewardship across Encorp’s corporate depot network.
The position is responsible for end-to-end project management of new corporate depot builds, including site development, vendor coordination, capital budget oversight, and regulatory compliance. In addition, the role oversees maintenance strategy and facilities management across all corporate depots to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
The successful candidate will combine strong project management expertise, construction knowledge, financial acumen, vendor negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration to support the continued growth and operational excellence of Encorp’s corporate network.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Depot Construction & Expansion
- Lead and consult with the Director of Real Estate & Express Program for full lifecycle project management of new corporate depot construction projects from feasibility through design, permitting, build-out, commissioning, and handover to operations.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate architects, designers, engineers, contractors, landlords, municipalities, and other external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets, track project costs, provide regular reporting to senior leadership, and provide cost forecast updates during construction.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and corporate design requirements.
- Support site selection due diligence in collaboration with the Director of Real Estate & Express Program.
Facilities & Maintenance Management
- Work closely with the Senior Director, Plant Operations & Logistics and the Area Manager(s) to Develop and implement a preventative maintenance strategy for all corporate depots.
- Oversee ongoing facility repairs, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Manage vendor contracts and service agreements for building systems, equipment maintenance, and property services.
- Establish and monitor facilities-related KPIs, including cost control, response times, and safety compliance.
- Lead emergency response coordination for facility-related incidents.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Operations, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, and Health & Safety teams to ensure seamless integration of new depot builds and upgrades.

Communicate project milestones, risks, and performance updates to leadership.

Support operational readiness planning for new depot openings.

Process Improvement & Governance

Develop standardized construction and facilities management processes, documentation, and reporting tools.

Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, sustainability, and long-term asset management practices.

Maintain accurate documentation for permits, warranties, leases, and compliance records.

Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience in construction project management, facilities management, commercial development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-site capital projects and maintenance programs.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, and vendor negotiations.
- Knowledge of building codes, occupational health & safety standards, and municipal permitting processes.
- Experience in retail, logistics, industrial, or warehouse environments is an asset.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000 per year
- Discretionary Performance bonus: 15%
Work Schedule & Travel
- 37.5 hours a week
- Monday to Friday from 8am – 4pm
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
- Regular travel within the lower mainland to our existing portfolio of locations and travel outside the lower mainland as portfolio expands. Longer term travel may be necessary for major projects.

Key Responsibilities
