About the role
You will be responsible for improving the productivity and operational management of production teams while helping to lead the company toward Industry 4.0. As an Industrial Engineering Specialist, you bring a comprehensive vision and expertise in operational efficiency within the Production Support team. In collaboration with the production team, you will optimize methods, scheduling, operational flows, and the layout of our production areas. You will define assembly flows and conduct capacity studies. Your main responsibilities as an Industrial Engineering Specialist will aim to reduce manufacturing costs by reducing waste, improving production methods, and optimizing the assembly areas for our various products by participating in process performance monitoring activities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Constantly optimize the performance and efficiency of our processes in line with the growth of production volumes;
- Review the organization of workstations, assembly methods, and production sequences;
- Conduct economic cost reduction analyses to select the best opportunities;
- Play a pivotal role and be the link between cost reduction projects and production reality;
- Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel;
- Facilitate continuous improvement activities in the form of Kaizen;
- Recommend changes and organize their implementation;
- Produce production reports;
- Conduct time and motion studies to bring about the best process improvements;
- Map production processes to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize production output;
- Facilitate the implementation of performance indicators;
- Take charge of the production transfer for large-scale manufacturing of new products;
- Implement processes and procedures respecting the quality system;
- Plan and participate in equipment and process validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Automated Production Engineering, or Operations and Logistics Engineering; - Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as an industrial engineer in the manufacturing sector;
- Experience in project management and technical writing;
- You have good methods for complex problem solving;
- You demonstrate strong leadership skills and a high sense of initiative;
- You stand out for the quality of your communication, promoting teamwork;
- You have a keen sense of analysis and synthesis;
- You possess a strategic vision for projects;
- You are customer-focused;
- Very good command of the French language and good knowledge of the English language (oral and written);
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
ASSETS
- Experience in the medical field;
- Experience in robotics or with mechatronic systems;
- Knowledge of SolidWorks, JIRA, and Confluence;
- Experience with repeatability and reproducibility tests (Gage R&R) and statistical methods;
- Knowledge of quality management principles and methodologies (ISO 13485);
- Knowledge of FDA quality system regulations (21 CFR Part 820);
- Experience with one or more of the following standards: IEC 60601, IEC 60204,ISO 13849, and UL1740.1.
