Title: Human Resources Coordinator

Location: North York (M9L 2V4)

Shift time: Days (Office)

Position Status: Perm Full-time

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator will provide timely and professional Human Resources support, while ensuring compliance with governing legislation. This role will engage as a point of contact for HR inquiries and supports the day-to-day execution of HR programs, processes, and initiatives in partnership with the HR Business Partner. This is an on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Operations

  • Provide guidance and instruction to employees on Human Resources policies, programs, and systems.
  • Create, maintain, and update employee e-files.
  • Maintain employee tracking for training, absenteeism, work visas.
  • Create and issue employment confirmation letters for employees as requested.
  • Communicate Benefits and Group RSP programs.
  • Coordinate and participate in employee engagement and site social events as required.
  • Actively participates in the development of HR programs and initiatives and supports the implementation and maintenance.
  • Support Plant Wide Meetings.
  • Coordinate and maintain employee and agency employee access badges.
  • Maintain and update employee communication boards/TVs on an ongoing basis.

Training

  • Assist with Onboarding new hires, including New Hire Paperwork and Orientation training records.
  • Maintain agency employee internal training records.
  • Upload internal training records and certificates onto SharePoint.
  • Update employee file including training records and medical surveillance results.

Recruitment

  • Assists and support recruitment selection as required, including but not limited to developing job descriptions, creating and posting job advertisements, screening candidates, updating career sites, coordinating and conducting interviews, conducting references, drafting offers of employment.
  • Coordinate with hiring agency regarding plant tours, orientation, and assignment cancellation for temporary employees.
  • Send out communication emails for new hire announcements, coordinate with department leader & IT to prepare work tools needed and ensure assets are returned before employee exit.
  • Assist with recruitment initiatives as needed.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Prepare and issue various monthly reports and newsletters (absenteeism, recruitment, training, etc.)
  • Support merit process and hourly level rating assessments.
  • Assist with HR Initiatives and program implementation.
  • Maintain HR Control Tower reporting.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree/certificate in Human Resources Management.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of the organization.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Solid computer skills required in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written and verbal).
  • Highly organized and has a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and superior ability to solve problem-solve.
