Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking and has an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Warehouse Representative/Driver at our Downsview, ON location.

The primary function of this role will be Warehouse Representative, however, the individual will be required to support with driving during peak times, vacations, etc. A company Cargo Van will be utilized for deliveries - to be kept at Applied's site (not for personal use or to commute to/from work).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and shipping all materials and products in an accurate and timely manner
  • Sort material, stock shelves, pick orders, package and label materials
  • Pick and prepare sales orders for outbound shipment
  • Utilize and manage bin locations
  • Organize and maintain all applicable records and files
  • Maintain cooperative and productive inter-departmental relationships to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Take personal responsibility for and actively engage in product, systems and skill training and development
  • Safe operation of cargo van including Vehicle inspections and logging
  • Safe loading and unloading of product (occasionally heavy)
  • Follow established route
  • Pick up Applied orders form vendors along established route in west GTA
  • Deliver customer orders along established route in west GTA, obtaining Proof of Delivery (signatures)
  • Maintain contact with dispatch along route to be aware of additions/changes
  • Keep vehicle clean/fueled, inform shipping personnel of any mechanical issues
  • Operate various cutting and machining tools such as saws, grinders, shears, crimpers, etc
  • Assemble, build, measure, cut, crimp, and test industrial hoses Inspect and test product
  • Document non-conformances

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience in shipping and receiving; preferably within an industrial distribution setting
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Parts Management experience
  • Customer service driven
  • Strong sense of direction & navigation abilities
  • Ability to lift, load, unload packages in a safe manner; must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to use verbal skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, vendors, and clients
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Can work independently or in a team environment
  • Focused and able to clearly follow directions
  • Motivated and willing to learn
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Basic mathematical aptitude
