We are currently seeking a Director, Supports and Services to lead and develop the management team within an assigned portfolio of programs, and to oversee the effective and efficient delivery of supports and services while also driving the ongoing development of program infrastructure and personnel.
Under the leadership of the CEO, the Director is responsible for evaluating current program offerings, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to address inefficiencies and gaps, ensuring that all programs align with organizational values and regulatory requirements. In collaboration with Managers, the Director works to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth, ensuring that Managers are well-equipped to develop their teams effectively and promoting a supportive environment where employees feel valued and motivated to deliver high-quality services.
The Director plays a crucial role in the strategic planning process, working closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop long-term plans that support the KACL’s mission and vision. The Director fosters strong community relationships and partnerships, representing KACL on various external committees, and advocating for the needs and rights of all people supported.
The Director is instrumental in driving KACL’s commitment to creating inclusive, empowering, and supportive environments for all employees and people supported, and in championing a culture grounded in KACL’s values and the four fundamentals.
Key Accountabilities
- Evaluate and strategize for the ongoing enhancement of supports and services within programs.
- Offer comprehensive oversight, guidance, and support to Managers in the development of employees and teams and in the attainment of operational objectives.
- Collaborate in the development of robust tools for measuring and presenting key performance indicators, making certain that progress towards objectives is readily accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
- Meet regularly with other KACL Directors to address day-to-day issues impacting service delivery.
- Vigilantly monitor for risks inherent to service delivery. Collaborate with KACL Directors, external partners, and stakeholders to mitigate risk. Keep the CEO informed.
- Participate with the senior leadership team to develop organizational strategic and operational plans. Engage with other Directors to ensure clear communication of strategic direction to all KACL Managers, enabling them to integrate strategic plan elements into program and department operational plans effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- A deep understanding and personal commitment to our core values, with the ability to integrate these into daily work practices (required).
- A university degree in Social Services, Health Care, or a related field.
- Five or more years of senior leadership experience in a social services or health care environment.
- Outstanding leadership abilities; compelling vision, shaping robust organizational structures, nurturing individual growth, and cultivating cohesive, high-performing teams.
- Superior communication skills, adept at understanding diverse audience needs and tailoring messaging accordingly for maximum clarity and impact.
- Strong emotional intelligence. Effectively recognizes and manages personal emotions while also empathizing with and positively influencing the emotions of others.
- An elevated level of resilience is required to manage the stressful demands of this senior leadership position.
- Proficiency leveraging technology, with a strong command of Microsoft 365 applications
Position Type: Full-time, in-person, permanent.
