About The Role The buyer will support and execute the operational and tactical procurement of goods and services at local level under the leadership of the procurement manager and in close cooperation with the Procurement specialist, Category Managers and the business.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Create local purchase orders for supplies, equipment and services within authorized signature limits with pre-qualified suppliers.
  • Support and execute the procurement of goods and services in accordance with category strategies, as well as applicable policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Generate RFQ’s for low to medium spend in accordance with procurement policy in collaboration with operations and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain the Integrity of spend classification and other PO requirements.
  • Drive the process of new vendor registration on the system.
  • Support the realization of the cost savings initiatives at local level in line with zone and global strategies.
  • Identify procurement saving opportunities and initiate individual projects & initiatives at all operational levels.
  • Direct business lines towards improved operational discipline in procurement processes (Buyways, eCatalogs, Pcard Policy and other).
  • Ensure the implementation and tracking of savings, performance indicators and achieved results.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

What We’re Looking For

  • Associates/Technical Degree is required or equivalent professional experience, Bachelor’s/Undergraduate degree is a plus. Preferred field of study: Business Administration, Accounting.
  • Two to five years in procurement role (sourcing, operations) with exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in aggregates, RMX or heavy industrial setting is an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP, Microsoft office and Ariba.
  • Effective time management, planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and drive tasks to completion in a fixed time-frame and in a pressured environment.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships across multiple functions. Ability to deal with ambiguities, conflicts and adversarial relationships.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel Requirements: 10%.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
