About the role
Accept site delivered material
- Unloading of freight into warehouse
- Ensure delivery information matches physical items
- Verifying packing slip matches contents, physically checking specific items and opening boxes
- Confirming SAP order matches what was shipped with 3 point verification (physical item, SAP, packing list)
- Contact Vendor for discrepancies
o Inaccurate orders
o Damaged goods
o Duplicate items
o Etc.
- Post goods receipt in SAP to appropriate PO and scan all relevant paperwork (MTR's, checklists, certifications)
- Specialty items (electric motors) require additional forms and tagging
- Additional forms filled out as required
o Pressure vessels
o PIEM checks
- Work with engineering team on QC inspections. Provide paperwork as requested
- Non PO items digitally tracked (MS Forms)
- Secure freight with banding or shrink wrap for safe transport
- Attach paperwork to the freight, mark delivery location and move to staging area. Either staying in main warehouse for stock (Marshaller) or transported onsite to the appropriate block
- Unique or large items, sometimes processed before unload then delivered to appropriate area to avoid double handling.
- Ensure proper handling of rail car seals (as per Dow policy) upon arrival
- Assist Dow team in finding and processing rush product as required
Withdrawals related to construction
- Request received via email
- Ensure Dow rep withdrawing construction material properly fills out stock withdraw forms
- Ensure all related construction job material is placed together
- Paperwork for construction items tracked manually
House Keeping
- Sweeping areas clean
- Garbage removal
- Maintain clear aisles for forklift and pedestrian traffic
- Empty cardboard, garbage and metal bins as required
Health and Safety
- Daily FLHA/PTA cards
- Bi-Weekly safety meeting attendance
- Weekly hazard ID cards
- On-time completion of all Dow required courses (Diamond Learning)
- Read, understand, and follow Vallen's health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations
- Actively participate in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections
- Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses
- Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or requirements
- Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Minimum 1-3 years of related experience, preferable in a Sales/Distribution environment.
