Your Role & Responsibilities
- Performs role in a manner that is reflective of Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations;
- Ensures a safe work environment at all times, reporting unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor and/or site manager;
- Coordinates all incoming/outgoing shipments with the Product Coordinator(s), Lead Hand, Operator(s), Customer Services and outside carriers as needed.
- Monitors and investigates volume discrepancies, inventory, demurrage reports, and update changes to customer profiles with customer services as needed and report findings to fleet supervisor, customer services and the product group;
- Processes incoming and outgoing documentation in SAP business system in a timely manner (i.e., Bills of Lading, GI, third party invoicing, update carrier code, etc.);
- Responds to customer specific documentation requests (internal and external) in a timely manner;
- Generates and maintains reports from SAP business system as requested; (VL06)
- Dispatch drivers on planned trips
- Ensure Drivers are provided with all information that is required
- Be able to make changes on the fly as needed to cover all trucks and loads (re-plan No-Go’s, re-plan routes due to driver calling in sick, etc.)
- Engage with drivers constantly and follow up on planned routes, pickups and deliveries
- Monitor and track all pickup and deliveries and notify customer services in a timely manner
- Be able to troubleshoot and multitask to resolve any issues that may occur and report to fleet supervisor
- Must be a team player and able to work in a very fast-paced environment
- Be able to cover vacations for other Dispatch roles within the Quebec region (i.e. Bulk, Packaged, Chlorine, etc.)
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or complaints
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Collaborate with other regions (LMSOs) to coordinate stock transfers
- Help coordinate equipment maintenance with fleet supervisor
- Maximizes fleet efficiency through the effective assignment of loads;
- Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Fleet Supervisor.
Your Profile Education and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Education; College Diploma in business or equivalent would be preferred
- Previous experience in dispatching/warehousing, preferably in the Chemical Industry (2+ years)
- Able to communicate in both French and English
- Sound skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Previous experience/exposure with ERP systems, preferably SAP, would be considered an asset
- Previous exposure to compliance systems, such as CompliantPro, would be beneficial
- Previous exposure to Transportation Management System, would be beneficial
