A Journeyman Electrician is in charge of large and complex projects while supervising the project as a whole, from the large-scale down to the details. On such a project, a Journeyman is responsible for providing on-site direction and leadership for workers in order to complete jobs within specific guidelines that include quality standards, time requirements and budget considerations. They may be responsible for many different aspects of the job, including planning, customer relations, material management, and quality control and may also be responsible for training employees or overseeing apprenticeship programs.
We, at Current Group, are actively seeking qualified Journeyman Electrician personnel to manage residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. Duties would include managing a team, evaluating employees' progress, training new team members, attending and participating in meetings, identifying & resolving conflicts. Other work responsibilities include organizing and planning a construction project, directing work, inspecting installations for quality, making sure code standards are met, and ensuring job safety.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work alone or as a member of a team
- Knowledge about computerized systems
- Ability to understand blueprints and specifications
- Physical strength and endurance
- Material management and documentation control
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and Building Code & Standards
Additional Skills we are looking for:
- Enjoyment in working with electrical systems and motors
- Interest in the latest technology
- Aptitude for mathematics and science
- Background in technical and mechanical knowledge and skills
- Experience with agricultural electrical and automation
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to manage multiple crews
- Respectful communication with customers, site supervisors, contractors and co-workers
- Creativity and a logical approach to problem-solving
- Safety Conscious
