Job Responsibilities:
Scope of Position
- Leads personnel involved in the maintenance, modification, and repair of plant machinery and infrastructure.
- Trains and mentors a team of maintenance technicians and supports the manufacturing process by ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Strives to continually improve the quality of work and the level of morale within team of reports. Ensures that activities and systems meet the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.
- Oversee, prioritize and schedules the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and fixtures, coordinating with internal departments, external contractors for both routine and emergency services. Ensures optimal use and availability of resources during all maintenance activities.
Minimum Requirements
- College/University Bachelors Engineering degree or Certificate of Qualification in 433A or 442A or equivalent experiences required.
- Minimum five years supervisory experience in a multi-shift automotive manufacturing maintenance environment
- Experience must include maintenance support of CNC, PLC and robotics control systems, hydraulics, mechanical systems, electrical systems, facilities maintenance
- Demonstrated success in continually improving operations
- Refined ability to perform analysis and present results
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
- Knowledge of Safety Legislation and its’ application in a manufacturing environment
- Must be a team player, communicate well with others, and able to interact with all people at all levels and departments
- Possess good interpersonal skills and is results orientated.
- Must have good organizational skills, and display a positive attitude towards new ideas
- Good working knowledge of English language (both spoken and written)
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team on the production floor.
- Support the development of preventative maintenance strategies.
- Support production teams by conducting root cause investigations to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Adhere to schedules for routine checks, servicing, and preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns and extend asset life.
- Suggestion Program on time closure
- Employee Opinion Score on relevant elements
- Safe installation and repair of equipment.
- Ensure work instructions are followed, and Maintenance Technicians and apprentices have received the proper training and demonstrate competence.
- Ensure that shift maintenance reporting is processed accurately and on time.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant trade standards of best practice in all work carried out by the team improvements.
- Allocate jobs to employees ensuring that they are trained to carry out job tasks and functions in an efficient manner, including the use of hand and power tools, safety devices, and required personal protective equipment.
- Support CI initiative of the manufacturing team
- Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
- Enforce high standard of quality, integrity, teamwork, and safety in all work performed by the members of the team
- Coach, train, develop and motivate inspire maintenance staff across multiple shifts.
- Maintain documentation on all equipment, building infrastructure, etc. such as machine manuals, electric circuit diagrams, hydraulic-pneumatic circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, spare part lists, preventative / predictive and emergency breakdown work orders / instructions
- Support in Maintaining an appropriate level of spare parts.
- Ensure work instructions are followed, and maintenance staff have received the proper training

Plant Safety and Cleanliness
- Comply and participate in monthly Health & Safety quiz.
- Comply and participate with Suggestions and Continuous Improvement program at MSM.
- Contribute to the determination of MSM’s Environmental Targets/Aspects/Objectives.
- Ensure that employees in the department comply with MSM’s Environmental Systems requirements.
- Will ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and checked and operating in such a manner that it will not compromise MSM’s ability to comply with environmental laws and regulations.
- Responsible for monthly inspections of all pits, trenches and tunnels.
- Perform all other assignments from time to time as management so direct.
