About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cross Border Dispatcher to join our team. As a City/Highway Dispatcher, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a fleet of vehicles, ensuring timely delivery of goods or services.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch Operations: Coordinate and manage the daily activities of drives and ensure efficient deployment of vehicles and personnel.
- Route Planning: Plan and optimize delivery routes based on factors such as distance, traffic conditions, and delivery schedules to minimize fuel consumption and maximize efficiency, on-time pick-ups, and deliveries.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain schedules for drivers and vehicles, considering delivery deadlines, driver availability, vacation planning, slip seating drivers, and customer requirements.
- Communication: Maintain open communication channels with drivers, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status, address any issues or delays, and ensure smooth coordination of operations.
- Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring on-time deliveries, inquiries, claims, and efficient service.
- Resource Management: Manage fleet resources such as vehicles, equipment, and personnel to optimize utilization, minimize downtime, and reduce costs.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot problems that arise during fleet operations, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, or scheduling conflicts, and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Documentation: Work hand in hand with the Dispatch Manager, S&C Manager, and Operations Supervisor to maintain accurate records of fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance logs, driver logs, and delivery schedules, for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Perform a weekly analysis of the Days Outstanding Receivables (DOR) to ensure timely payments and financial tracking.
- Monitor and manage demurrage charges for trailers from customers such as Amazon, Gateway, and Walmart.
- Daily tracking and completion of driver trips, ensuring timely progression and closure in FLX, Revenova once implemented.
- Prepare driver envelopes containing necessary documents and information for the next day's trips.
- Monitor and progress after-hours shipments, keeping customers informed of any relevant updates.
- Scan Proof of Deliveries (PODs) at the end of each day to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Use the GTA planner to organize and plan truck routes for the upcoming day.
- Plan and dispatch drivers day-to-day from the morning dispatcher location, optimizing routes for efficiency.
- Utilize the FLX system to mastermind order ratings, ensuring accurate and efficient order processing.
