Dock handler - Lead hand (Night Shift)
About the role
Under the supervision of the Dock Supervisor, the Dock Handler -Team Lead is a responsible, resourceful and attentive individual who conducts himself/herself as a professional. He/she has the company's interests and profitability at heart and makes sure to provide a work performance that meets the requirements of his/her position while respecting health and safety rules.
In collaboration with the Supervisor, he/she coordinates the work and provides support to the handlers. He/she ensures that operating procedures are respected and followed in order to achieve the quality objectives in effect. He/she takes charge of the realization of special projects that are entrusted to him/her and brings them to completion.

Responsibilities Ensures the proper loading and unloading of trailers and compliance with customer requirements, including deadlines:
- maximizing equipment utilization;
- loads are maximized in order to maintain productivity;
- quality of the work of the handlers;
- compliance of trailer securing
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, particularly with respect to safety:
- Checks the quality of the handlers' work;
- Gives instructions; deadlines are met;
Respects Safety Conditions
- forklifts are properly inspected
- Completes the inspection report to the system;
- Immediately reports any abnormalities in the equipment;
- Ensures that the work environment is safe at all times.
- Cleans the trailer.
Merchandise Is Properly Located, Identified And Counted. Data Is Properly Entered Into The Computer System. The Dangerous Goods Procedure Is Followed
Respects deadlines and quality standards by having an exemplary conduct:
- Follows loading/unloading priorities;
- Stacks or unstacks merchandise according to standards;
- Applies or removes over packing; maximizes loading;
- Enter data into computer and record cubic capacity and weight
- Stows the goods according to the standards;
The number of containers or pallets is accurate. The order of loading is respected:
- Accurately counts and identifies cargo;
- Loads the trailer according to the route plan;
- Identifies and reports any anomalies;
- Completes OS&D reports;
