##Responsibilities
As a School Age Educator, you will:
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate programs that reflect children’s interests using an Emergent Curriculum approach.
- Support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of school-age children (ages 6–12).
- Foster positive behavior, independence, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Maintain accurate and timely daily documentation, reporting, and attendance records.
- Build strong relationships with families and maintain open, professional communication.
- Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., Speech or Occupational Therapists) when required.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with licensing, health, and safety standards, including room ratios.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and support transitions between before-school, after-school, and full-day programs.
##Qualifications
- Valid Nova Scotia ECE License (or equivalent status recognized for school-age care).
- ClearVulnerable Sector CheckandChild Abuse Registryscreening.
- ValidStandard First AidandCPR Level B or C.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 45 lbs.
- Experience working with school-age children is considered a strong asset.
