The Data Scientist contributes to the development of artificial intelligence solutions focused on image analysis and visual recognition. Working closely with technical and product teams, this person designs, trains, and optimizes computer vision models, ensuring their robustness, performance, and efficient deployment. They play a strategic role in data selection, model architecture, and the integration of best practices in data science.

As Data Scientist AI, you must be able to

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, transform problems into concrete analytical solutions, and propose tailored approaches.
  • Identify relevant data for model training, oversee data annotation, and optimize the data pipeline with the infrastructure team.
  • Develop and train image segmentation, object detection, and keypoint localization models using a variety of rigorously tested architectures.
  • Develop, train, and test different computer vision models (segmentation, object detection, and keypoints).
  • Optimize model hyperparameters using automated optimization tools such as Optuna.
  • Evaluate model performance using rigorous metrics and systematically identify areas for improvement.
  • Adapt models for deployment, including conversion to ONNX format and integration of preprocessing and postprocessing steps.
  • Stay up to date with advances in artificial intelligence to integrate best practices into projects.

What makes you an asset to our team

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer engineering, software engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of workflow management tools (e.g., Metaflow) or code configuration tools (e.g., Hydra) is an asset.
  • Experience developing clean, structured code within a large-scale project, using tools such as Git, GitLab, and pytest for testing.
  • Relevant experience in data modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, matplotlib, seaborn).
  • Knowledge of data processing environments (e.g., Pandas, Spark, Hadoop) is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and scientific rigor.
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Results-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
  • Intermediate English proficiency (spoken and written).
