Joining our team means actively participating in the application of sensors and instrumentation on Aero engine components and ensuring the reliability of the instrumentation. You will be involved in supporting the assembly of instrumented engines, preparing and monitoring tests, as well as resolving issues related to sensors and measurements. In collaboration with the engineers, you will contribute to the analysis of results and the formulation of essential technical recommendations for the development and validation of engines. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Mississauga and may involve travel.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Participate and review Request for test and test instructions.
  • Set up the instrumentation (accelerometers, pressure sensors, displacement sensors, telemetry transmitters).
  • Carry out these installations with little or no supervision.
  • Validate the modifications of the components necessary for the instrumentation.
  • Define and ensure the routing of instrumentation outside the engine.
  • Support the assembly of instrumented engines.
  • Actively participate in the bench tests of instrumented engines.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the reliability and quality of the measurements.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Hold a college degree or post-secondary education, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a field related to instrumentation.
  • Master the principles of measuring mechanical stress, pressure, vibration, displacement, temperature and good understanding of RF circuitry.
  • Possess a strong analytical ability and demonstrate a good understanding of complex subjects.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team while being autonomous.
  • Have a good understanding of electronics and computerized systems.
  • Understand and use data acquisition systems with rigor and precision.
  • Be comfortable with office tools to document, analyze, and present the results.
  • Demonstrate meticulousness and rigor in the execution of tasks related to instrumentation.
  • Know how to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding testing environment.

Although this position is part of a English-speaking work environment, it may require a working knowledge of French to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in French with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
