About the role
We are seeking a proactive and organized Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to manage and coordinate the maintenance of our fleet assets. This role involves dispatching, working with vendors, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient service. The ideal candidate has experience in maintenance operations, dispatching, and customer service, and can manage multiple tasks across various customers daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate multiple maintenance orders across our fleet each day
- Set pick-up and delivery appointments based on service and schedule requirements
- Interface with customers to resolve issues and identify improvement opportunities
- Communicate carrier/customer accessorial costs in a timely manner
- Monitor carrier performance and recommend routing changes as needed
- Evaluate carrier alternatives and tender freight based on cost and service requirements
- Maximize profit margins while meeting customer requirements
- Work closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless fleet operations
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years' experience in shipping, maintenance, transportation coordination, or relevant certification
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance and transportation operations
- Experience with transportation management software
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers
- French speaking and writing - an asset
- Experience in maintenance or dispatching roles is highly preferred
