Pinchin is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to join our Microbiology Lab in Mississauga, ON. This role is being hired to fill an existing position and reports directly to the Laboratory Manager.

Role Overview

You’ll be part of a busy environmental lab where you’ll handle incoming samples, prepare materials, and support testing activities. From maintaining equipment to assisting analysts, you’ll play an important part in keeping the lab running smoothly.

Your Role and Action

  • Receive and accurately log incoming samples in the LIMS system.
  • Prepare and ship sampling materials to clients as needed.
  • Maintain daily records and perform routine checks on laboratory equipment.
  • Operate the autoclave to sterilize microbiological materials.
  • Ensure the laboratory and equipment remain clean, organized, and in good working conditions.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and calibrations.
  • Report any equipment issues, deficiencies, or malfunctions to the Laboratory Manager.
  • Support analysts with day‑to‑day laboratory tasks and testing activities.
  • Prepare and maintain stocks of reagents, stains, and agar.

What You’ll Bring to Pinchin

You combine technical ability with curiosity, accountability, and a passion for positive impact—whether for clients, communities, or the environment. You appreciate teamwork, learning, and a collaborative, respectful workplace.

  • University degree in Biological Sciences (or a related discipline).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain an organized work environment and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Proven ability to multitask and perform well in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; intermediate French is an asset.
