Trillium Health Partners (THP) is seeking a dedicated Sustainability Project Manager to lead sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency projects, and various capital projects within the Facilities Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and a proven track record in project management within the healthcare sector. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Reporting to the Manager of Energy & Sustainability, the Sustainability Project Manager will drive efforts to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and ensure operational sustainability across the organization’s facilities.
Snapshot of Responsibilities:
- Implement Trillium Health Partners' corporate sustainability strategy.
- Conduct energy audits to identify inefficiencies.
- Analyze utility usage for sustainability projects.
- Develop and implement energy-saving strategies.
- Support utilities budget development and management.
- Lead projects from planning to commissioning.
- Develop and implement sustainability programs. Ensure energy tracking systems are operational.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution
- Manage infrastructure upgrades, facility renovations, and new construction.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
- Recommend and prioritize energy-saving projects.
- Develop business cases and track outcomes.

Capital Projects
- Plan, design, and execute capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
- Manage contracts and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.
- Monitor and adjust project progress.
- Coordinate with stakeholders.
- Ensure projects align with Broader Public Sector guidelines

Sustainability Projects
- Lead sustainability initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
- Collaborate to identify and prioritize projects.
- Track and report progress and impact.
- Apply healthcare-specific construction and renovation standards, including IPAC and CSA guidelines, to all sustainability initiatives

Budget Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Monitor expenses and provide financial reports.

Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to minimize disruption during project implementation and ensure continuity of care.

Collaboration and Training
- Collaborate with internal and external teams.
- Manage consultant and contractor relationships to deliver high-impact sustainability outcomes.
- Provide training on sustainability practices.
- Educate and motivate staff on environmental initiatives.

Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reporting.
- Monitor energy conservation data and support ECDM Plan. Maintain records and ensure timely submissions of required documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on facilities, healthcare, or sustainability projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Superior communications skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Internal candidates who believe they possess the necessary qualifications and experience for this position and who have been in their current position for at least six (6) months are encouraged to apply.
Additional Information:
- This position may require occasional travel between Trillium Health Partners sites.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
