This is an excellent learning opportunity for students enrolled in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related fields of study. Reporting to the Supervisor of Engineering, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside engineering staff and gain hands-on experience in municipal engineering, design, construction, and inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with surveying, data collection, and entry.
- Support contract documentation and administrative duties.
- Provide customer service assistance related to municipal engineering inquiries.
- Work with engineering staff on various projects to gain practical experience.
- Utilize GIS, AutoCAD, and other software tools to support engineering tasks.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Construction, Civil Engineering, GIS, or a related field.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS, ESRI, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with surveying equipment.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- High level of integrity and strong work ethic.
Working Conditions
- Summer student position from May until the end of August.
- Full-time hours; outdoor work may be required at construction or survey sites.
