Job Purpose & Responsibilities
This is a permanent, full-time position with the Land-Use, Planning, Development & Regulatory Services Department.
Reporting to the Municipal Enforcement Team Leader (Supervisor), this position is responsible for:
- Ensuring public awareness and enforcement of all City bylaws and authorized provincial statutes.
- Enforcing all Municipal and Provincial Bylaws.
- Patrolling within City limits.
- Issuing verbal warnings, written warnings, and violation tickets as required.
- Addressing complaints, concerns, and questions in regard to Municipal Bylaw infractions.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary education in law enforcement or criminal justice,
- Community Peace Officer Level 1 Appointment from the Solicitor General,
- Criminal Record Checks, Background Security Check, and Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance must be maintained,
- Radar, Pepper Spray, and Baton certification
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License,
- First Aid and CPR certified,
- Laser and Photo Laser certification would be an asset.
- This position requires highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills.
- The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who upholds high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and service to the public.
More Details
The wage for this position is $38.53/hr. The hours for this position are 40 hours per week on a rotational schedule that includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
