Forest Protection Limited (FPL) invites applications for the Staff Accountant position. The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Department by handling daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall accounting processes and cycle. The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing timely and accurate information that contributes to the Finance Department's ability to measure the organization's financial performance and inform operational decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank and credit card statements
  • Process journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and reports
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Prepare customer invoices and monitor the status of accounts receivable
  • Prepare project claims and other supporting documentation for invoice submission
  • Assist with processing payments, invoices and expense reports
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and files, including fixed assets schedule
  • Identify and recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Intermediate to Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with core Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., Dynamics)
  • Written and verbal communication in English
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
