About the role

Job Description

The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream position in Evolutionary Genetics and Hybridization. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct innovative research in evolutionary genetics and hybridization.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialization.
  • Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
  • Contribute to the academic life of the department and the university.

Qualifications

Required

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • A strong record of research and publication in evolutionary genetics and hybridization.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.

Preferred

  • Experience in interdisciplinary research.
  • Ability to attract external funding.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
