The Opportunity

The Field House Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing membership growth and retention, and generating revenue through advertising and sponsorship sales. This position provides strategic direction in managing rental requests, and ensuring exceptional experiences for members, clients, and rental group participants.

As part of the Health, Membership and Recreation (HMR) Leadership team, the Field House Supervisor plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence and community engagement. This position requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, aligning with the Irving Oil Field House operational hours to provide supervisory support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the Irving Oil Field House team as part of the HMR Team of the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick.

  • Provide support to Irving Oil Field House Manager and associated team by performing rental scheduling and supportive program tasks using the facility management system (Active Net), Staff Scheduling (SLING), and other systems as required.

  • Provide advice and assistance to prospective users in creating account profiles, generates rental permits, and processes payments, credits, refunds, for rentals according to established protocols and follows up on accounts in arrears.

  • Maintain facility scheduling system and process of online booking requests as part of the established protocols and overall approval processes. Respond to rental inquires in a timely and effective.

  • Provide hospitality, logistics, and set up support as needed for programs, events, leagues, and rentals as needed to support exceptional experiences.

  • Assist the Irving Oil Field House Manager with the growth and retention for facility rentals.

  • Set-up and tear down for community programs, member activities, and rentals.

  • Work collaboratively with Membership Services in aligning processes tor rentals and support/leadership to membership team including but not limited to serving on the membership desk and scheduling team and providing coaching as needed.

  • Develop and manage sponsorship and advertising programs, including facility signage, promotional opportunities, and community partnerships.

  • Actively sell advertising opportunities within the Field House to local and regional businesses.

  • Build relationships with sport organizations, schools, businesses, and community groups to expand rental use.

  • Go through the Y Way training and be able to apply the pillars in your work to provide a great experience to Field House customers, community members, YMCA members, and rentals.

  • Work with Manager, Irving Oil Field House to develop, manage, and measure outcomes and key metrics for each component such as monitor, support and adhere to budgets set.

  • Communicate and enforce facility guidelines to ensure a safe and controlled environment while paying keen attention to accident/incident prevention.

  • Maintain front line delivery presence and excellence, providing leadership and guidance to staff in daily operational issues relating to membership.

  • Act as the Duty Manager during some shifts hand to assist departments throughout the Centre with security, safety and operations; in addition to handling difficult situations.

  • Understanding of Child Protection Policies and Practices.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.

  • Minimum 3-5 years successful sales experience.

  • Minimum 3-5 years successful sales management experience, preferably leading a team dedicated to business growth and development.

  • Customer-focused personality to demonstrate that both external and internal customers are high priority.

  • Computer experience working with Microsoft Applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate others.

  • Current First Aid and CPR.

  • Employment is contingent on providing a cleared Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

  • Competitive Compensation: $42,000–$55,000.
