The Role:

 

As an Events Marketing Intern, you'll become a valuable member of our dynamic marketing team, assisting with campaigns that enhance our company's reach and impact This role includes researching where our audience shows up, drive call-for-papers (CFP) submissions, handle event logistics and vendor coordination, and package results so we learn and scale what works! You’ll be hands-on, organized, and comfortable using AI to move faster. This role would also suite students enrolled in Co-op programs and  eligible for 2 consecutive terms commitment.

Why this role exists : our plan calls for deeper research on audiences, more speaking opportunities, and flawless show execution owning logistics, multi-tasking across time zones, and keeping everything on track.

 

Key responsibilities

Research & Planning

 

  • Build and maintain a rolling Event & CFP (call for papers) calendar (telecom, enterprise/MSPs, satellite, data center events). Track deadlines, session formats, and fit.
  • Project Manage CFP abstracts with SMEs; tailor talk titles, synopses, and bios; manage submissions and follow-ups. (Quarter plan includes “show abstracts submitted for events.”)
  • Evaluate event fit using past performance and audience profile; recommend where to speak, sponsor, or attend.
  • Engage with Industry associations to maximize our membership opportunities liaison
  • Work with internal SME’s to determine webinar roll out and execution

Logistics & Vendor Coordination

 

  • Coordinate trade show deliverables AV, internet, power, freight, graphics, giveaways and staffing
  • Manage timelines and on-site checklists own the logistics and keep items on track.
  • Source and book travel blocks; manage meeting room schedules and staffing.
  • Liaise with partners on co-marketing opportunities (joint sessions, meetups, demos).
  • Work with Sales and Speakers on AppLogic Network sponsored customer events.
  • Communicate details and KPI’s to on-site staff

Campaign connection & reporting

 

  • Partner with our Digital team to attach pre/during/post campaigns, landing pages, and CTAs; ensure lead flow to nurture programs and to Sales while tying to attribution.
  • Maintain an Event Scorecard per show: goals, meetings booked, leads, pipeline influenced, cost metrics; feed weekly dashboards.

AI-assisted speedups

 

  • Use AI to scan prospectuses, extract key dates/costs, and summarize fit.
  • Generate first-pass abstracts, titles, speaker bios, and booth copy variants.
  • Auto-transcribe/post-event sessions and flag highlight clips to repurpose into social posts and nurture.

Must-have skills

  • Strong enthusiasm for event planning and a passion for creating memorable experiences.
  • Fiercely organized: timelines, checklists, vendor comms, and budget trackers. Multitasking is key
  • Creative and enthusiastic. Devoted to details and the customer experience.
  • A keen eye for emerging industry trends and creative ways to engage the customer
  • Clear, concise writing (emails to organizers; abstracts; status notes).
  • Comfort with funnels and basics of CRM/marketing ops.
  • Baseline MS Office/PowerPoint proficiency is expected from our intern template.

Nice-to-have skills

  • CRM/marketing automation (SFDC/HubSpot); GA4/UTM basics for landing pages
  • Event Management Software or similar. (Cvent preferred)
  • Project Management Software
  • AI proficiency: ChatGPT/Claude for drafting and summarization; transcript & clip tools (e.g., Descript/CapCut/Runway) for post-event assets.

 

Qualifications

  • Intern  focused on Marketing/Comms/Business
  • This role would also suite students enrolled in Co-op programs and  eligible for 2 consecutive terms commitment.
  • Prior event/logistics or campus club experience a plus (vendor coordination, ops).
  • Located in North America; able to flex occasionally across time zones

Working conditions

Remote; occasional extended hours around shows; potentially some travel for on-site execution.  

What success looks like (KPIs)

  • On-time delivery of logistics milestones (100% of critical dates hit).
  • CFP throughput:

    of qualified submissions per quarter and

    accept rate .
  • Meetings & leads vs. target; cost per qualified conversation .
  • Attribution hooks in place (scan→CRM→nurture) and post-show report published within 5 business days.

Pay Range : $25/hour- $30/hour CAD

 

AppLogic Networks provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
