JOB DESCRIPTION

Terms: Full-Time to begin, with potential for reduced work schedule

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable function and provides support for accounts receivable, the After School Care Program, and other accounting and administrative activities within the Finance Department. The position plays an important role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and effective service to school staff, families, and vendors. Education and Training

  • Completion of post-secondary coursework in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with Sage 300 or comparable accounting software is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum two years of bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or office administration experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Salary Range: $55 000 - $70 000, dependent on experience and qualifications
