Spotter Security is looking for anExperienced Security Service Technicianwho thrives on solving problems, learning quickly, and working independently. This is ahands-on, field-based positioninvolving regular travel across the GTA, with occasional work beyond the region as needed.
You’ll be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electronic security systems - both hardware and software. The ideal candidate has strong technical capabilities, excellent people skills, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
**Location:**Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
**Position Type:**Full-Time (35-44 hrs/week)
Key Responsibilities
Service & Technical Work
-
Install, maintain, and repair electronic security equipment (IP video, access control, alarm systems, integrations, etc.).

Inspect and test equipment and assemblies to diagnose, locate, and resolve faults.

Perform hands-on work indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments.
-
Complete scheduled maintenance visits with thorough documentation.

Resolve assigned service tickets independently.
-
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
-
Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
-
Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements.
Customer Service & Reporting

Interact professionally with customers and ensure complete satisfaction.
-
Submit accurate Work Orders and detailed Post-Service Reports, including images and descriptions.
-
Communicate effectively with the Service and Technology Manager.
-
Escalate complex technical issues where required.
Work Schedule & Expectations
-
Monday–Friday, 35–44 hours per week.
-
Occasional overtime or weekend shifts.
-
Participate in after-hours service rotation.
-
Extensive local travel; may work at multiple sites within a single day.
Qualifications
Required Experience
-
3–5+ years installing and/or servicing cabling, cameras, alarms, access control systems, or related technologies.
-
Experience with at least some of the following manufacturers:
Avigilon, Milestone, S2, Genetec, Axis, ExacQ, DSC, Alarm.com, Brivo, Eagle Eye, OpenEye, Kantech.
Technical Skills
-
Strong understanding of IP video systems, access control, alarm systems, and integrations.

Strong networking and IT knowledge, including troubleshooting and software updates.

Ability to independently diagnose, resolve, and escalate complex issues.
Required Certifications & Documentation
-
Valid full G-Class Ontario driver’s license.
-
Clean driving abstract.
-
Clear criminal background check.
-
Eligible to work legally in Canada.
-
Ministry-approved Working at Heights certification.
-
Boom/Scissor lift and/or Bucket Truck safety training.
Other Assets
-
Additional product or manufacturer certifications.
