Essential Responsibilities
Safe and efficient operation of mini excavators, backhoes, trenchers, dozers, skid steers, etc.
Provide light maintenance and routine service to equipment
Operates equipment, hand tools and lifts heavy items (up to 50 pounds) Reads underground utility locates and ensures safe digging practices are always being adhered to Maintains a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and Ledcor Works as a part of an overhead telecom line crew and assists with restoring job sites back to their original state Maintain all equipment in good and safe working condition and report any findings to lead hand Take active role in Ledcor’s health and safety program Qualifications: 5 years of experience in Equipment operation Directional drilling experience is considered an asset Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong knowledge of construction documents Must be able to track and communicate daily production and materials. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders’ needs, and identify solutions Must have and maintain a clean and current driver’s license and abstract Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.) Experience with safely operating a variety of large and small power equipment, light vehicles and properly tow/back-up trailers Work Conditions: Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
Travel to various sites in the surrounding London, Ontari area
Working outdoors in various weather conditions Compensation $37.06 - $46.16 per hour This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location. Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
