As an Energy and Optimization Specialist, you will be a key member of the HSE & System Operations team, championing energy efficiency and optimization initiatives across Enwave’s district heating and cooling systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement impactful improvements, support new business opportunities, and help shape the future of urban energy infrastructure. What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll drive energy efficiency and optimization initiatives to reduce operating costs across Enwave’s district heating and cooling systems, while playing a key role in advancing decarbonization and supporting the transition to clean energy.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Engage with Plant Operations to identify, evaluate, and manage opportunities for system improvement

Leverage incentive programs available to deliver on optimization projects
-
Manage and monitor energy performance for plant operation creating M&V plans, energy audits, and applying optimization principles.

Implement energy management programs across the fleet to help reduce carbon footprint
-
Work with the System Operations group to develop system operating targets and budgets and support the development of asset dispatch/optimization models
-
Work with Project Managers in the development and execution of commissioning and M&V plans for new capital projects
-
Provide supporting analysis for business development opportunities.
About Your Experience and Qualifications
-
Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical)
-
2–5 years of experience in energy conservation, energy engineering, or energy management
-
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation highly desired
-
Strong analytical and presentation skills
-
Ability to read engineering reports and drawings
-
Experience with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation, and control systems across hospitals, data centers, commercial, and residential buildings
-
Technical knowledge of building processes and systems
-
Knowledge of BAS systems, trend analysis, and identifying low-cost saving measures
-
Leadership in developing, evaluating, and implementing energy efficiency projects
-
Project management experience and on-site energy audit expertise
-
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
