Junior Java Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst
About the role
The Java Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and define system enhancements using script tools and by analyzing/interpreting code, leveraging application development knowledge.
- Consult with users, clients, and other tech groups, recommending programming solutions, and supporting customer-facing systems.
- Apply programming language knowledge to design specifications.
- Analyze applications for vulnerabilities, security issues, and conduct testing/debugging.
- Advise and coach junior analysts.
- Identify problems, analyze information, make judgments, and implement solutions.
- Resolve issues by applying technical experience and following precedents.
- Operate with limited supervision, exercise independent judgment, and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience in technology
- 1+ years experience in Core Java, Java EE, PL/SQL, Microservices (lightspeed, docker, Kubernetes), Spring, Springboot, Hibernate, Unix scripting, Team City, Udeploy, Autosys, Oracle, MSSQL
- Business knowledge of Financial Markets, Trading, Middle Office and Back Office function
- Knowledge of GitHub/Version Control Systems, Kafka
- Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Team oriented individual, ability to work in complex environment
- Experience the Financial Service industry is a plus
