About the role
Eaton is currently seeking a Technical Product Specialist to join the team. This is a hybrid role based at the Toronto, ON site and includes 25% travel.
What you’ll do:
Project Engineers are a technical resource for the field sales force and are responsible for supporting the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as a technical advisor and product advocate, the Project Engineer is expected to identify and provide reliable solutions for standard technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
Essential Functions Include:
Technical Expertise & Product Knowledge – Maintain appropriate level of UPS product knowledge and its application. Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs for all UPS product portfolio. Provide design and specification development support to manufacturer’s representatives, end users, consultants, integrators, and distributors. Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
Customer Engagement & Support – Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements. Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner consistent with the company’s mission, values, and financial objectives. Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts. Identify customers’ needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.
Training & Enablement – Perform technical/product training for salespeople, end users, and engineers at targeted accounts.
Project & Account Management – Provide status of ongoing and future projects. Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts, and correspondence in company-approved databases. Travel to project sites to provide technical support as required.
What will make you successful?
The ideal candidate demonstrates a solid understanding of electrical systems and can confidently interpret architectural and electrical blueprints. You possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and problem-solving using spreadsheets, databases, and web tools. This combination of skillsets ensures project execution and cross-functional collaboration. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in the electrical industry in the power distribution field
- Available to travel up to 25%
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within an 80-kilometer radius of the Toronto, ON facility will be considered.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.

- Experience in AutoCAD
