We’re looking for a Mobile Software Developer to help us build the features which will lead us into our next phase of growth as we scale from our current 2 million members to 20 million members (and more!).
You’ll join a small but mighty team at a key moment, working alongside experienced developers to modernize our mobile app and ship beautiful, high-impact features that delight our members.
We are a small, tight-knit team of 17 passionate people. We’re profitable , intentional about staying lean , and proud of our “small but mighty” approach. This role is for someone who’s hands-on , takes ownership , and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to make things happen with limited oversight and resources.
You have…
- 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
- 5+ years of professional experience building and releasing mobile apps.
- Deep experience with React Native and TypeScript , and having released apps to the App Store and Google Play.
- A passion for crafting amazing user experiences , prioritizing accessibility , and maintaining a bug-free product.
- Experience maintaining and modernizing mobile apps , with a focus on upgrades and building out best practices.
- A strong eye for design, with attention to how things look, feel, and function .
- The discipline to prioritize work, stay focused, and deliver in a lean startup environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills – you know how to work well in a small, cross-functional team.
Bonus points for having
- Experience building or maintaining a design system.
- Experience working in modern web development environments .
- Knowledge of French.
What you will be doing
- Lead the modernization of our React Native app : upgrading dependencies, migrating to Expo, and adopting mobile development best practices.
- Work closely with our Product team to deliver high-quality, user-friendly interfaces across mobile platforms.
- Own features from wireframes to release, with strong attention to design detail and performance.
- Contribute to code reviews and help maintain a clean, scalable mobile codebase.
- Play a key role in shaping our mobile app architecture as we grow.
- Support onboarding of new team members and help refine internal dev processes.
- Lead the modernization of our Web app: upgrade from our current HTML/CSS/JavaScript stack to a modern framework and best practices.
Compensation & location
- Full-time, remote role within Ontario , with regular coworking in Toronto and Kitchener–Waterloo (1-2x/month)
- Base salary starting at $150,000 , plus profit-sharing
- Equity through the Employee Stock Options Plan (ESOP)
- 20 paid holiday days per year and another 10 paid statutory days off per year
