About the role

Your Opportunity:

The Raymond Laboratory/X-ray department is located in the Raymond Health Care Centre and serves the town as well as its surrounding area. Raymond Alberta is located 30 mins from Lethbridge Alberta and 1 hour from the Coutts, Montana border. The Raymond CLXT location is staffed with an experienced team of laboratory and x-ray professionals that offer strong patient focused service to their community. This role follows the established standards and practices defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act. This is a Combined Laboratory and Diagnostic position. As a Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech II (CLXT II), this opportunity allows you to mentor and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will be responsible for monitoring the collecting, analyzing and reporting of biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs, and reporting results. You have experience with laboratory, diagnostic imaging and cardiology procedures. With a customer service focused approach, and your strong coordination, organization, and communication skills, you build productive and respectful customer relations and take responsibility for customer satisfaction. You have the ability to influence change by encouraging others, building positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships. Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement. This vacancy may be eligible for recruitment incentive.

Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist II, you will direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will also be responsible to perform site specific manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have a minimum 5 years laboratory and diagnostic imaging experience. Proficiency in core laboratory theory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen procurement and handling, and transfusion medicine dispense. Applicants must demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills, effective organizational and time‑management abilities, excellent communication skills, solid technical competence, and a proven capacity to take initiative and assume responsibility. Ability to work independently when necessary. Ability to facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the Epic Laboratory Information System, recent phlebotomy experience (within the last 1-3 years). Leadership and other related training/courses are all assets.
