IAM Security Architect
About the role
LeverageTek is actively seeking an IAM Security Architect for a 5 month contract with its Ottawa-based customer
Work Location
This is a fully remote position. The successful candidate must reside in Canada.
Key Tasks
Provide senior IAM guidance, advisory, and architecture services under the Cyber Resilience Transformation Program Develop the strategic direction, target-state architecture, and roadmap for IAM capabilities Lead the advancement of Zero Trust identity principles across users, workloads, applications, devices, services, and AI-enabled solutions Create enterprise IAM architectures and governance models aligned with security, privacy, operational, and regulatory requirements Establish authentication, authorization, and access governance patterns leveraging Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, CyberArk, Azure Key Vault, and related technologies Establish standards and design patterns for identity governance, lifecycle management, access certification, entitlement management, and privileged access Develop an approach to non-human identities including service accounts, workload identities, APIs, secrets, certificates, and machine-to-machine access Lead the development of agentic identity management capabilities and governance models to support secure AI adoption Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance for IAM initiatives and review solution designs from project teams and service providers Identify IAM capability gaps, technology risks, and control deficiencies, and develop remediation roadmaps Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, cloud, application, and data teams Produce architecture deliverables, standards, roadmaps, governance artifacts, and executive-ready recommendations Provide expert guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams
Key Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of recent demonstrated experience in IAM, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT Minimum 3 years of recent demonstrated experience as an IAM Architect or Identity Security Consultant in complex, regulated environments Demonstrated experience designing and governing IAM controls including identity governance, privileged access management, authentication, authorization, and Zero Trust identity capabilities
Qualifications
University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field Demonstrated experience assessing current-state IAM capabilities and defining target-state architectures and roadmaps Demonstrated experience identifying IAM, security, and compliance control gaps and recommending risk-based improvements Demonstrated experience developing IAM standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and governance frameworks Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, CyberArk, and Azure Key Vault Experience with identity lifecycle management, federation, secrets management, and cloud identity architecture AI identity governance experience considered a strong asset Financial services or highly regulated industry experience considered an asset Knowledge of TOGAF or SABSA enterprise architecture frameworks considered an asset Relevant certifications considered an asset (CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, Microsoft Security, SailPoint, CyberArk) Must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance (minimum 5 years Canadian residency required) Must possess a Windows 11 device with Azure Virtual Desktop capability and a smartphone supporting Microsoft Authenticator
Compensation
