Scope: A HVAC Technician will work both independently and, in a team, setting. Initiative and accountability are important attributes and key considerations. A Maintenance Technician will perform predictive/preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs on various production and facility equipment. May also perform emergency repairs and assist with equipment installations as needed.
Shift: Days Schedule: Monday - Friday Duties and Responsibilities:
- HVAC technician duties and responsibilities involve maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting:
- Air Makeup, Exhaust, Heating, Humidifiers, Air Conditioning and Chilled Water Systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Work with outside vendors, engineers and consultants on project related/affecting Air Makeup, Exhaust, Heating, Humidifiers, Air Conditioning and Chilled Water Systems
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions on the systems
- Perform inspections to identify potential problems before a full break down.
- Respond to critical requests with urgency to return down equipment to service promptly.
- Communicate the completion of all work performed
- Adhere to all environmental, safety and health policies plans and procedures
- Complete all departmental documentation neatly, completely and accurately
- Train other technicians in the skills required to perform preventative maintenance, equipment breakdowns and repairs
- Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use, mixing and disposing chemicals
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
- Demonstrates practical and analytical skills and experience
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electro-mechanical equipment
- Ability to follow technical data and instructions (e.g., operation manuals, schematics, and diagrams)
- Ability to stand throughout the shift and lift 50 pounds without straining
- Forklift/Scissor lift licenses will be required
Education and Experience:
- Must have a minimum 2-year direct experience in HVAC, Boiler, Chilled Water Systems.
- Certified Electrician would be a major asset
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Gas Technician Licenses: G1, G2, G3
- Valid 313A (CofQ) Refrigeration and Air Conditioning System Mechanic
- Valid Forklift & Scissor lift license would be a major asset.
