Ferring+You
The National Medical Lead will act as lead for the therapeutic area, providing expert scientific capability and leadership, internally and externally. In collaboration with the Medical Director, the you will set the strategic medical business focus for the therapeutic area and be accountable for delivering to targets. You will be responsible for the scientific/medical exchange with KEE and bringing the medical and patient voice back into the organization (including activities such as 1:1 engagement, advisory boards, congress presentations, medical education, publications). This is a customer facing position and may have direct reports.
Your day at Ferring
- Accountable for leading external scientific/medical exchange with the healthcare provider community, including oversight of the development and delivery of timely and responsible medical communication and/or engagements with Key External Experts (KEEs) and customers to achieve a two-way trusted scientific partnership.
- Providing high quality medical and scientific support and medical leadership to relevant internal business partners such as commercial, regulatory and market access for varied activities (e.g., onboarding training of new employees, execution of advisory board meetings, deployment of regional training courses/workshops together with national and regional KEE, support of speakers with presentations and literature research).
- Responsible for internal material review to ensure medical and scientific accuracy and in compliance with local and Ferring requirements.
- Facilitating the preparation and presentation of critical reviews of scientific publications (internally and externally), learning activities with external stakeholders to augment education related to the therapeutic area and Ferring products, as appropriate.
- Attending scientific congresses, enhancing therapeutic area expertise, supporting Ferring activities, participating in the preparation and dissemination of congress reports in a timely manner.
- Working with investigators to facilitate and support clinical studies (both Ferring sponsored and investigator-initiated). Evaluating and managing Investigator Initiated Studies to address knowledge gaps, advance research and alignment to a research area of interest.
- Responsible for development and deployment of strategic medical activities in alignment with commercial strategy and enhancing awareness of commercial opportunities based on Medical insights
- Provide strategic scientific input to Regulatory and Market Access teams to support the demonstration of value that Ferring products bring, with the goal of achieving optimal product labelling, reimbursement outcomes and patient access.
- Identification of Real World Evidence opportunities to support or augment access and reimbursement of Ferring products.
- Responsible for regular review and analysis of data analytics and medical voice of the customer to derive insights and develop action plans to deliver to the medical strategy
- Identify challenges and opportunities for Ferring products; development and dissemination of response information and/or activities
- Monitors competitor activities within the therapeutic area
- Intake and reporting of complaints and adverse reaction reports (ADRs) to the appropriate
Behind our innovation…There’s you
- Post-graduate degree e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD with training in Urology and/or oncology, is a must.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 2 years prior experience and a successful track record as a Medical Science Liaison or within a Medical Affairs department within Urology and Oncology therapeutical areas.
- Deep experience of stakeholder management, development and maintenance of relationships with KEE's and external stakeholders.
- Minimum 2 years people management experience.
- Fluent in English written and verbal, French skills are a great asset.
- Willingness to travel to various meetings, educational congresses, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required. Approximately 25% travel anticipated.
