In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding a team that focuses on providing care to individuals with complex needs and supporting long-term housing stability. These programs are built on our core values: meeting participants where they are at, eliminating barriers to entry, and offering a safe, compassionate space to address addiction and mental health challenges. The responsibilities of a Team Lead would include the following:

  • Supervise, coach, and discipline front-line staff; conduct performance reviews
  • Ensure respectful workplace practices; address staff concerns and serious issues
  • Maintain adequate shift coverage and accurate staff timekeeping
  • Respond to crises and ensure staff and client safety protocols are followed
  • Oversee medication administration and client medical needs
  • Liaise with community partners, police, EMS, and respond to local concerns
  • Support staff performance through check-ins, meetings, and team collaboration
  • Ensure program supplies, vehicle maintenance, and hygiene protocols are maintained
  • Manage client funding, treatment referrals, and file audits
  • Oversee data tracking, reporting, and financial record-keeping (e.g. floats, rent)
  • Ensure proper delivery of client programming and adherence to collaborative agreements
  • Leading by example with compassionate, non-judgmental client interactions
  • Address client grievances; escalate serious concerns to the Program Manager

About You

The ideal candidate would have the following

  • At least two years of experience leading a team

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field from a publicly funded institution (minimum two-year degree or diploma, those in progress may be considered)

  • Experience in addictions, mental health, homelessness or working with Indigenous populations preferred

  • Understanding of harm reduction, withdrawal management, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented systems

  • Class 5 Alberta (non-GDL) driver’s license, three years of driving experience, and a clean five year driver’s abstract

  • Proven crisis intervention and de-escalation skills

  • Experience supervising and debriefing staff or facilitating groups

  • Compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive toward vulnerable populations

  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and organizational skills

  • Able to maintain confidentiality, accountability, and act with professionalism

  • Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Understanding of privacy laws and the Protection of Persons in Care Act

  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last six months) with no material findings

  • Ability to gain Privacy certification and lift training

  • Ability to physically assist clients from prone to sitting or standing positions

  • Must be able to drive an agency van and use own vehicle for work if needed
