About the role
Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior natural gas exploration and production company. We are
focused on long-term growth through an aggressive exploration, development, production and
acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
We are currently looking for a Senior Joint Venture Contract Analyst to join our Calgary office. This is a
full time position reporting to the Team Lead, Joint Ventures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to:
- Working with Joint Venture representatives, accounting and legal to provide appropriate
assurance that Tourmaline’s assets (whether jointly or wholly owned) are administered in
accordance with contracted terms.
- Preparation of new and revisions to existing Joint Venture Agreements and providing investigative
services to contractual, operational, budgetary, accounting and business issues relating to joint
ventures.
- Preparation of Mail Ballots and info only AFE letters, sending results as well as receiving,
processing and accurately tracking the progress of Non-Op Mail Ballots and AFE’s.
- Providing guidance in the ongoing development of Tourmaline’s contract administration
processes and overseeing key aspects of these processes, including tracking contractual
obligations.

Drafting, editing and managing correspondence and contract documentation.

Monitoring recommended industry practices and implementing appropriate changes to
Tourmaline practices.
- Responding to inquiries related to contract matters, including interacting with Partners and
Producers
- Working closely with Joint Venture representatives, JV/ops accountants, production accountants,
FDC and field/operations staff to:
o identify and resolve partner disputes in accordance with the JV agreements
o respond to audit and JIB Inquiries
o work with PA to ensure service fees are properly set up
o advance special projects.
- Assisting in acquisitions & divestitures including due diligence reviews, assignment agreements as
required, and adding newly acquired agreements into the JV/Land System
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following
qualifications:

8+ years’ experience in contract analysis in the energy sector
-
Excellent working knowledge and understanding of standard oil and gas industry agreements and
processes, including construction, ownership and operating agreements, unit and unit operating
agreements, gas handling agreements, contract operating agreements and other standard service
agreements.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Proficient computer skills with previous working experience with electronic content management
and accounting systems; specific experience with Landrite and D365 would be an asset.

Well versed in contract administration principles and document control strategies.

Ability to maintain accurate records with attention to detail.

Excellent organizational, analytical, research and administration skills.

Excellent oral and written communications kills.

Proactive and self-motivated team player with innovative problem-solving skills

The ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Experience with Land Systems conversions would be an asset
