About the role
Bus Monitors work under the direction of the Principal of the school. Bus Monitors shall be responsible for supervising specific students who ride the school bus to and from school. The Principal shall determine the work schedule. Start and end times will be outside of the regular school day according to bus route details.
Key Responsibilities
- Bus Monitors support specific students during bus transportation to and from school on a daily or supply basis.
- Dealing with discipline problems in a manner prescribed by the Principal and reporting significant disciplinary actions to the Principal or designate.
- Carrying out such bus supervision duties as the Principal may assign.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children.
- Ability to ensure the safety and security of students.
- Ability to communicate with staff, students and parents.
- Willingness to work with students with different needs and capabilities.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Proven record of attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment.
- Ability to ride on the bus for an extended period of time.

- Bus monitors will work approximately 1-2 hours per day (or more depending on the school's requirements) during the school year from September to June.
