Under the supervision of the Director – Environment and Sustainable Development, the incumbent will serve as the coordinator responsible for achieving sustainable certification for building design and construction projects (Civil and infrastructure) across Canada.
This individual will be specifically accountable for obtaining Envision and LEED certifications for a variety of projects. In collaboration with design teams (internal experts, engineering and architectural firms), project management teams, and subcontracting partners, the incumbent will coordinate certification efforts at every stage of the project. They will implement the necessary plans, analyses, and monitoring processes to ensure the targeted certification is achieved.
This role is part of a young and rapidly growing team, offering numerous opportunities for learning and career advancement.
What you will do

Act as an internal consultant for multiple project teams simultaneously to achieve the targeted sustainable certification (Envision, and LEED), from design through to project delivery;

Conduct weekly project follow-up meetings (virtual or in-person) with all relevant stakeholders;

Perform regular site visits during construction to ensure compliance with the requirements for the targeted sustainable certification;
-
Register projects with the appropriate certification body and manage communications between the project team and the certifying organization throughout the project lifecycle to secure the desired certification;

Collaborate with the project team to efficiently carry out work in accordance with contractual, environmental, and certification-related requirements;

Contribute to the development of expertise within the Environment and Sustainable Development team (e.g., certification management tools, life cycle analysis, training initiatives, etc.).
This role could be for you if you have

A recognized university degree with a specialization in sustainable development, environmental studies, or a related field;

LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C);

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in sustainable development for infrastructure projects; Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) designation issued by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI);

Strong understanding of environmental issues and impacts related to construction projects;

Experience in developing Sustainability Management Plans and monitoring sustainability performance for infrastructure construction projects;

A valid driver’s license.
