This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work within a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance team and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate financial records, uphold strong vendor relationships, and support the organization’s commitment to reliability and professionalism.

In addition to the duties typically expected of an Accounts Payable Associate, this role will:

  • Take ownership of your work and pride in its quality, knowing your precision directly supports InterRent’s reputation for integrity and reliability.
  • Help ensure all vendors and partners are paid on time, reinforcing InterRent’s standing as a trusted organization that delivers on its commitments.
  • Approach your work with consistency, organization, and accountability, always striving to improve.

Partnership & Reputation

  • Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with vendors, contractors, and partners across Canada.
  • Understand that every payment represents InterRent’s promise and that reliability and professionalism strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Support our goal of maintaining and growing relationships with top-tier partners nationwide by upholding accuracy, transparency, and trust in every transaction.

Innovation, Change & Continuous Improvement

  • Bring a change-ready mindset, open, adaptable, and excited to learn as we introduce AI and automation tools into our finance processes.
  • Participate actively in training and team discussions, contributing ideas and energy to support continuous learning.

Team Excellence, Engagement & Professionalism

  • Contribute to a Finance team built on respect, precision, and accountability, where collaboration and professionalism are the foundation of success.
  • Exhibit consistency, reliability, and a strong work ethic; be recognized as someone others can depend on.
  • Support your peers, share knowledge, and uphold a high-performance culture grounded in engagement, mutual respect, and results.
  • Understand that excellence is both individual and collective; every team member plays a critical role in achieving it.

Qualifications:

  • 0 - 3 years of experience in accounts payable, finance, or accounting.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Yardi or similar software an asset).
  • A genuine interest in process improvement and technology, with enthusiasm for learning AI and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Bilingualism in French & English is considered an asset but not required.

Most importantly, we are a collaborative and high-performing team that values a hands-on approach. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, contribute-where-needed kind of role, where flexibility and teamwork are key. We are looking for someone who is eager to support the team’s success in a variety of ways, knowing that the same level of support will be there for you when you need it.

The approximate hourly rate for this 6-month contract role is $20–$23 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, and overall fit for the role. We recognize that candidates bring diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we encourage individuals at all stages of their careers to apply. If your experience or compensation expectations differ from the posted range, we still welcome your application, as we value potential, growth, and the unique contributions each person can bring.

This role is based in our office five days a week, providing an opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues, gain hands-on experience, and learn in a highly engaged team environment.
