About the role
Bridge Business Unit Manager Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Bridge Business Unit Manager to lead the bridge construction division and drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture. This role is responsible for business planning, project execution, client relationship management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Contribute to corporate strategic planning and budgeting for the bridge business unit
- Develop operational plans and budgets for the division
- Oversee procurement, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiations to secure profitable work
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and consultants to grow market share
- Monitor industry trends and identify new business opportunities
- Provide leadership and allocate resources for efficient project delivery and compliance with safety and quality standards
- Implement processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and analyze project performance for continuous improvement
- Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships, material procurement, and inventory
- Recruit, train, and manage employee performance, including coaching and discipline
- Approve expenditures and ensure adherence to company standards and legislation
Your strengths include:
- Post-secondary education with a degree in structural or civil engineering (Professional Engineer designation preferred)
- Minimum Class 5 driver's license
- Strong strategic planning and operational execution skills
- Expertise in marketing and business development within the construction industry
- Ability to design and implement efficient work processes
- Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel and work out of town as required
