How You’ll Contribute

We’re looking for a detail-driven and highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at our Cranbrook, BC head office. This is a**part-time role (20–40 hours per week)**with the opportunity for additional hours during busy periods.

In this role, you’ll help keep our financial operations running smoothly by ensuring invoices are processed accurately, vendor accounts are reconciled, and payments are completed on time. Your work will support project teams across the company and help ensure our suppliers and partners are paid efficiently and professionally.

What You’ll Get to Do

As an Accounts Payable Clerk at MacKay, your day may include:

  • Processing a high volume of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Matching invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and contracts to verify accuracy

  • Preparing and processing vendor payments including cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers

  • Processing credit card receipts and reconciling company credit card accounts

  • Reconciling vendor accounts and resolving discrepancies in a timely and professional manner

  • Maintaining organized and accurate accounts payable records and filing systems

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities

  • Collaborating with the finance team and project managers to ensure accurate information flow

  • Responding to vendor inquiries and building positive working relationships with suppliers

  • Supporting improvements to financial processes and internal systems

Who You Are

You’re organized, detail-focused, and take pride in getting the numbers right. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities and understand that strong financial processes keep a construction business running smoothly.

You bring:

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable, finance, or office administration
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with accounting or ERP software such as Sage, Viewpoint Vista, or similar systems

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business administration
