About the role
Tomlinson Infrastructure is currently seeking a Project Coordinator. This position reports to the Project Manager, while also remaining accountable to the Construction Manager. The Project Coordinator assists in all aspects of the project: scheduling, submissions, customer relations, contract management, change management, project controls, quality control and safety. The incumbent supports Superintendents and Foremen with coordination of field activities (e.g., ensure as-built information is captured and submitted).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and submit required project plans and submissions
-
Produce traffic management plans, tracking completed work and extras
-
Assist with preparation of contract schedules and tracking of daily productions
-
Receive and process construction drawings, construction documents and shop drawings
-
Compile monthly payment quantities
-
Organize traffic control for large jobs
-
Assist with change of works and change proposal process
-
Monitor job costs and approve invoices
-
Order materials and daily schedules
-
Obtain permits and monitor compliance
-
Order and process underground utility locates
-
Eligible to participate on the Joint Health and Safety Committee
-
Communicate with clients and manage subs
WORKING CONDITIONS:
-
Fast-paced work environment, typically on large, complex projects
-
Working on project construction site(s) or in an office setting, usually a site trailer
-
Long working hours, with local travel between work sites
-
May require working nights and/or weekends, depending on contract schedule requirements
-
Will be required to work under pressure with tight deadlines
-
Exposure to construction site work environment in all seasons and weather conditions
-
Must have the physical ability to use stairs, ladders and walk over rough terrain
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
University degree in Civil Engineering, college diploma in Civil Engineering (CET or related field), or an additional 3 years of industry experience
-
Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
-
Excellent communication, organizational skills are mandatory
-
P6 scheduling software experience is an asset
-
Strong knowledge and understanding of construction health and safety requirements
-
Excellent computer skills
-
Basic accounting principles knowledge is considered an asset
-
Proficient and professional in oral and written communication
-
Sound judgement, reliable and organized
-
Valid full G class driver’s license is required
-
Willing to work in a team environment utilizing effective interpersonal skills with various levels within the organization and external stakeholders.
