Job Summary
We are in search of a strategic and results-driven leader to fulfill the role Director of Sales and Marketing , achieving company sales targets and driving brand awareness across all channels. Reporting directly to the President/Founder as a key member of our Senior Management team, you will develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, leverage their strong relationships with key accounts across all channels, and lead an Ontario-wide high-performing team to maximize market share and revenue in a competitive landscape.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Strategic Leadership & Platform Elevation: Develop and implement innovative go-to-market strategies that leverage our existing platform and distribution networks to drive significant, measurable growth.
- Key Account Relationship Management: Build and nurture existing strong, lasting relationships with major retailers and other key on-premise and off-premise accounts to secure product placement and drive mutual growth.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Lead the charge in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex sales and market data (e.g., from Dig or LCA, internal CRM systems) to identify trends, optimize pricing, forecast sales, and inform strategic decisions across sales and marketing functions.
- Team Leadership: Provide dynamic leadership to the sales and marketing teams, mentoring staff and fostering a culture of disciplined and aggressive sales with accountability, innovation, and data literacy.
- Marketing & Brand Strategy: Oversee brand management and develop targeted marketing campaigns that align with the brewery's identity and effectively reach target demographics in the Ontario market including but not limited to, all LCBO promotional spends.
- Budget & Performance Analysis: Manage departmental budget, track performance against key metrics (KPIs), and present detailed, data-backed reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the production and operations teams to align sales forecasts with production planning and inventory management.
- Budget Management: Manage the sales and marketing budget efficiently, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and a strong return on investment.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive sales and marketing experience within the CPG, beverage, or alcohol industry in Canada, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and market share expansion within the Ontario beverage market.
- Extensive experience managing key accounts and navigating the Ontario liquor regulations and distribution networks.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., advanced Excel, CRM systems like Salesforce, market data platforms) and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach to business development, willing to challenge the status quo, embrace opportunities, and innovate within an established structure.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills; strong leadership capabilities; adaptability; and a passion for the craft beverage industry.
- A bachelor's degree or College degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and comfort working with data, KPIs, and CRM systems to drive decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Creativity and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry environment.
