Description:
The Provincial Director of Health Link 811 Nursing Services provides strategic and operational leadership for nursing practice across all service channels, ensuring safe, evidence based, patient centered care 24/7. The role sets provincial nursing standards, oversees clinical protocols, drives quality improvement, and leverages virtual care and technology to enhance outcomes. The Director of Nursing leads nursing teams (RNs and LPNs) in Calgary and Edmonton, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective governance and alignment of nursing programs within Health Link 811. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Health Link 811 Nursing services advances practice, safety, and performance across the system. This position can be filled out of either Edmonton or Calgary

Required Qualifications:
Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or Public Health (with CRNA or CLPNA registration mandatory). Master’s Degree in a health-related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Five to seven years of nursing leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and change management expertise. Technical competency – experience delivering technical business solutions in information management, contact center technology and telephony, clinical applications. Demonstrated skill in team development & conflict management. Exceptional communication and organizational skills and a strong commitment to quality. Proven ability to develop and lead innovative solutions for complex issues in dynamic healthcare. environments. Ability to foster collaboration and build strategic relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees, and other internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:
Alberta Improvement Way (AIW) certification. Experience in strategy development, leadership, and managing complex projects and programs. Experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings and workgroups. Formal change management certification (e.g., Prosci®). Experience in tele triage, virtual care, and contact center operations is an asset. Working knowledge of EPIC/Connect Care and Genesys telephony systems.
