Gold Spring Colony
School is located in the County of Warner and along the eastern boundary of
Horizon School Division. From Warner,
travel 30 km east on highway 504, 1.2 km south on range road 141, east into the
colony.
1.0FTE Probationary
Colony Teacher
for the
2026-2027 school year, Gold Spring Colony School will have 13 students, grades
1-8. In addition to the teacher, the
students are also supported by an educational assistant, who works Monday to
Thursday. School is offered in a
spacious and well-designed building.
Assignment
includes
- 1.0FTE Probationary position. The school
is open Monday to Thursday, 8:50 a.m. to 3: 25p.m and Friday - 8:50 a.m. to 11:55
a.m.
The ideal candidate will:
-
be prepared to always demonstrate respect for Hutterite culture, traditions and
beliefs
-
be able to deliver quality instruction in a many-graded inclusive classroom
work effectively with an education assistant and the colony school team
-
be an excellent planner, with a solid understanding of curriculum and
assessment strategies
-
be willing to complete the assessments required in a colony school (early years
literacy and numeracy assessments, Fountas and Pinnell reading assessments, EAL
Benchmarks 2.0) and prepare report cards (PowerSchool).

have excellent personal, communication and organizational skills
-
be able to deliver curriculum in a meaningful and culturally appropriate
manner, without the use of technology
-
cultivate and maintain positive relationships with the German Teacher, parents
and members of the colony
-
be flexible, creative, committed and able to work well independently, as well
as contribute positively to our team of colony teachers
-
seek professional learning opportunities and engage in the ongoing growth of
their professional practice
