About the role
Our client, a continually growing and collaborative accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Manager to join their motivated, supportive, and energetic team in Halifax . In this permanent , full-time position, the successful candidate will step into the role with confidence, managing a client portfolio while overseeing a small team and external resources.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Perform client bookkeeping, including trust accounting, cost allocations, and month/quarter/year-end adjustments
- Prepare and explain financial statements to clients, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
- File corporate and personal tax returns, GST/HST, payroll remittances, and T-slips, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements
- Respond to CRA audits, reviews, and correspondence, providing necessary documentation and support
- Assist clients with budgeting, cash flow management, projections, and strategic financial planning
- Conduct P&L analysis and liaise with banks and lenders as required
- Continuously improve internal procedures and processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff, overseeing accuracy and progress of client accounts, reconciliations, and year-end adjustments
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- Previous management experience, overseeing staff and leading client relations
- Proficient in the use of Office365, QuickBooks Online and other accounting and reporting tools
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear communication skills with a professional approach and the ability to develop and foster lasting relationships with clients and internal staff
