Position Summary:

Position: Journeyman Plumber

Type: Project (Approximately 3 months)

Location: CNUL Albian
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off Rotation – Night Shift

Compensation Details:

Role Summary:

Bouchier is seeking a dedicated Ticketed Journeyman Plumber to join our CNUL Albian Camp Maintenance team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and gas systems in residential and commercial structures within provincial plumbing codes. This role also involves collaborating with other trades, assisting with tasks like electrical work, carpentry, painting, and flooring.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute plumbing-related renovations in dormitories within the camp area.

  • Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems in dormitories to identify issues and potential repairs.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize plumbing issues.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations during renovation projects.

  • Install new pipes or replace old pipes for renovations or repairs.

  • Determine the layout and configuration of piping systems based on building blueprints.

  • Cut, thread, and join pipes ensuring proper fit and alignment.

  • Conduct pressure tests to ensure integrity of newly installed pipes.

  • Monitor and maintain water supply systems including hot water tanks and valves.

  • Address issues related to water pressure, flow, and quality.

  • Install, repair, and maintain sewage and drainage systems for efficient wastewater removal.

  • Keep accurate records of work performed and any issues encountered.

  • Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies to minimize damage and ensure safety.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

  • Provide training, mentorship, and support for Apprentices.

  • Assist with electrical, carpentry, painting, and flooring tasks as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Red Seal or Alberta certified Journeyman Plumber certificate is required.

  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate is required.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver's abstract is required.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an oilfield industrial environment.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repairs.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.

  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency in threading techniques.

  • All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
