Job Description – Data Quality Analyst, Airports As Businesses
Position: Data Quality Analyst
Schedule: Full-time (5 days per week)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 10 days per month in office)
Reporting to: Manager Airport Economics, Airport as Business
Type: Permanent
Role Overview
The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of ACI World's airport economic data. This role supports the end-to-end management of the ACI Airport Economics Survey by coordinating data collection, validation, quality assurance, and maintenance of large international datasets.
Working closely with airport members, internal stakeholders, and technology teams, the Data Quality Analyst identifies and resolves data quality issues, performs statistical validation, recommends process improvements, and contributes to the development of reliable datasets, analyses, and publications that support ACI World's research, advocacy, and industry benchmarking initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Quality Assurance
Coordinate the collection, processing, validation, and maintenance of data submitted through the ACI World Airport Economics Survey. Perform comprehensive data quality checks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability. Investigate, analyze, and resolve data discrepancies through statistical validation, trend analysis, and cross-referencing multiple data sources. Monitor data quality metrics and recommend improvements to data collection methodologies and validation processes. Support the estimation and treatment of missing, incomplete, or inconsistent data using appropriate statistical and analytical techniques. Maintain and continuously improve historical datasets to ensure consistency and comparability of time-series data.
Stakeholder Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for airport data providers regarding survey submissions, validation queries, reporting requirements, and data corrections. Maintain survey schedules and monitor submission progress to ensure timely completion of reporting cycles. Provide guidance to respondents on data definitions, reporting standards, and survey methodologies. Maintain and update contact databases, reporting templates, documentation, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Contribute to the preparation of statistical reports, industry publications, presentations, dashboards, and analytical summaries. Produce data analyses and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support ACI World's research, advocacy, and member services. Assist in responding to internal and external requests for economic data and analysis.
Process Improvement and Technology
Collaborate with Information Technology teams on enhancements to data collection platforms, automation initiatives, and data management tools. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for new systems, reports, dashboards, and data platforms. Identify opportunities to improve data quality processes, operational efficiency, and reporting capabilities. Support additional data management and analytical projects as assigned.
Experience And Education
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field. Two to five years of experience in data collection, data processing, data quality management, statistical analysis, database administration, or business analytics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with large datasets and data quality frameworks is highly desirable. Experience in the aviation industry is considered an asset.
Skills And Assets
Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Strong problem-solving and investigative abilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and data visualization tools is considered an asset. Familiarity with statistical methods and data validation techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of additional languages, including French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Chinese, is considered an asset. Ability to work collaboratively with international stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
