Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
This role provides coordinated support across multiple teams within an academic program, including administration, advising, event planning, and research. They craft and distribute communications and documentation, supporting smooth day-to-day operations and effective information flow between units. The role includes supporting student advising processes, assisting with the planning and execution of events, and providing logistical and organizational support for research activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment. The administrative assistant contributes to a collaborative, student-centered workplace by helping teams operate efficiently and cohesively.

Provide front-line support for student advising processes, including scheduling appointments, preparing materials, and responding to general inquiries

Assist with planning and executing events, including logistics, registration, communications, and on-site coordination

Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to program operations, student services, and research activities

Support research initiatives by organizing materials, tracking timelines, and assisting with basic administrative tasks such as data entry and reporting

Contribute to office operations by managing supplies, processing routine financial or administrative forms, and supporting special projects as needed

Experience working within an Indigenous community and knowledge of Indigenous culture and language is an asset, including a deep understanding of Indigenous relational protocol, knowledge of community governance structures, and trauma-informed approaches

Familiarity with university procedures, policies, and computer systems

Familiarity and experience working within a professional setting

Experience in a university environment or related experience is preferred

Comprehensive computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, the Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, PeopleSoft, and internet search engines

High school diploma or equivalent
